Carmelo The Comic Genius?

When he's not busy being a top-five scorer, shooting 30 times a game or winning olympic gold medals, Carmelo Anthony likes to spend his time posing as his own wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in NYC.

The surprisingly playful Melo showed that he is quite skilled at acting like a lifeless statue, as he terrified innocent passersby.

If he can scare opposing defenses like this during the 2012 season, there is hope for the Knicks yet.

Farewell Jeremy Lin

Linsanity is officially over. Wait, wasn't it over when Jeremy Lin tore his meniscus in March and never suited up again? Even at "85 percent"? Oh yeah.

As Knicks fans, we don't quite know if we're happy with the loss of Lin. While we're Raymond Felton advocates at JZSports, it would have been nice to have both of them and stick the drunken Jason Kidd at shooting guard. After all, Lin gave us the best month of basketball Knicks fans have had since the 1999 playoffs. 

There is the luxury tax to consider, which would have brought Lin's total cost to $57 million. That translates into higher ticket prices. We get all of that. The only problem? Jim Dolan has never cared about overspending for players. Why the financial prudence now, when Mikhail Prokorov is trying to buy New York City? 

We just wish Dolan's decision to not match the Rockets' offer actually had a logical reason. Of course, there is no reason to expect logic from Dolan, the guy who took advice from Isiah Thomas on the Carmelo Anthony trade.

So Jeremy, we thank you for Linsanity. Seven games of awesomeness, 18 games of wow he's pretty good, and a month of "damnit he's made of tissue paper". We hope the Rockets treat you better than Dolan.

Madison Square Garden, Meet Carmelo Anthony

It's been a little over a year since Carmelo Anthony arrived in New York City with fanfare that shook the foundations of New York basketball. His coming was supposed to herald a new era of winning Knicks basketball.

As we all know, it didn't quite turn out that way....yet.'

On Easter Sunday at the Garden on national television, Anthony finally delivered the performance they brought him here for. Dropping 43 points (his career-high as a Knick),

Melo literally willed the 'Bockers to victory over the top-seeded Bulls, and delivered what will eventually be two of the defining moments of his Knick career.

The game-tying three sent the Garden into an understandable frenzy with 11 seconds to go...but he couldn't do that twice right?

Wrong. After all the drama and all the doubts (including our own here at JZSports), his 27-foot game winning bomb in OT gave him every right to proclaim "THIS IS MY HOUSE".

If he keeps this up, it just might be. That game-winner could prove to be the moment he finally won over the fans of New York City.

The Knicks are Back

"There was no summer more significant to the New York Knicks future than in 2010. The LeBron James sweepstakes began and it was evident that his choices were the Chicago Bulls, his former team the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Knicks.

Donnie Walsh was confident, with the perfect pitch in place to recruit him. Everything looking good, it all fell apart and James took his efforts to Miami where he is dominating with his all-star tandem of Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade, who is the face of the Heat franchise. The Knicks settled for a power forward who is only second in the league in scoring right now with 26.4 points per game. 

After Amare Stoudemire signed with the Knicks, he proclaimed to the NBA world that the Knicks were back. Well, they have made that clear this year. At 22-19, they are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and have beaten the likes of the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Hornets. It took a last second shot by Paul Pierce for the Boston Celtics to scrape by. They are playing with toughness and vigor.Whether they win or lose the game, their play is always exhilarating. 

With their new-found attitude and fearless play, the Knicks are making noise in the NBA and other teams are taking note. Whether they make the postseason or not this season, albeit a catastrophic collapse, the Knicks are to be feared next season and in the future. It's an exciting time for Knicks fans. Here's why."
